Under 16 French Cup for Girls

Holders: Langley Park School for Girls (Bromley & District SFA)

The trophy was donated in 1972 by Tony French, KSFA General Secretary 1956-76 and ESFA Chairman 1986-87. From 1972-73 to 2022-23 it was a boys’ competition. From 2023-24, it has been re-designated as a girls’ competition to perpetuate the memory of its donor, and to further enhance the KSFA’s delivery of football for girls.

Note – schools scheduled to play a “Late Entry” should check the KSFA website for any updates. The deadline for late entries is Saturday 12th September

If the result of a game has not been submitted by midday on the Monday following the deadline date, and no information relating to a legitimate delay in playing it has been received, the game will be determined by the KSFA by the toss of a coin.

The home school is responsible for appointing a neutral, qualified referee who is registered with a County FA for both the Quarter and Semi Finals.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS

  • Players must be over 14 and under 16 as at midnight 31st August/1st September 2026 (i.e. in Years 10 and 11 in the 2026-27 academic year). Year 9 pupils are not eligible to play in this competition.
  • Matches are 35 minutes each way. Extra time of 10 minutes each way must be played in all games that are level at the end of normal time.  If scores remain level, the tie must be decided by penalties.
  • Matches must be played on or before the deadlines. Matches can only be played in midweek by mutual agreement – failing such agreement, they must be played on a Saturday. If the result of a game has not been submitted by midday on the Monday following the deadline date, and no information relating to a delay in playing it has been received, the game will be determined by the KSFA by the toss of a coin.
  • Players who play in this competition are not eligible to play in the KSFA U16 Invicta Trophy or KSFA U15 Portex Trophy.
  • Schools with players in the KSFA Under 16 Girls Squad must avoid arranging games on dates when the county squad is playing or in the 48 hours prior to a county game (there will be county games on Saturday 12th September, Saturday 10th October, Saturday 14th November, Saturday 12th December, Saturday 9th January, Saturday 13th February and Saturday 13th March). • The winning school is responsible for entering the result (and the goalscorers for both teams) on the KSFA website within two hours – failure to do so may incur a fine of £10.00.
  • Schools are expected to fulfil their responsibilities to their own players and to other schools in the competition - withdrawal from the competition may be subject to a fine of £50.00
