U15 Boys v Middlesex

Saturday, 16th November 2019

We arrived at Sporting Club Thamesmead for our second league game of the season against Middlesex.

We started brightly and earned a penalty after Rasheed Tijani was fouled which Alfie Sanders calmly slotted away to make it 1-0 to Kent.  However Middlesex equalised minutes later with a well worked free kick routine.  Undeterred we pushed forward and quickly struck back with a corner which Ryan Gill headed home to make it 2-1.  Middlesex came straight back and just before half time they equalised again to make it 2-2. However we felt as if we were playing very well going into half time and had more to give.

After half time we started the brighter team winning our battles and within minutes Finley Cotton set up Rasheed Tijani who smashed it past the keeper to make it 3-2.  We now really had momentum and kept pushing forward.  Joseph Terry made it 4-2 with a superb strike and then Jack Vine scored from a set piece to make it 5-2.  We were all playing very well and Joseph Terry got his second of the game making it 6-2.  The game drew to a close with a consolation goal from Middlesex to make it 6-3.

As a team we worked hard and everyone really put in a shift.  James and Chris were very happy with the performance and it’s another three points on the board.
