Kent U12s 3 Prep Schools 0

For our second match of the week, we were hosted by Glebe FC.  We were playing a prep school team, but we didn’t know we were playing against a team that’s a year older than us.  Also, whilst warming up we had found out that the pitch was muddy and wet, so it was hard to kick the football around on some of it.

In the first quarter we had been in their half for most of it and had plenty of shots, but their keeper kept them in the game.

With an exciting second quarter we were making some amazing passes and then Jack Kingston had a shot and when the keeper couldn't catch Finley scored a  tap in. We had also been getting the ball out of our defence quickly and back up the pitch with a level of calmness.

In the third quarter we had been getting really close to the goal with a lot of shots and pressure to the oppositions defence, then out of nowhere Jack Duffy had a superb run through four players, round the goalie and just finished the ball calmly into the back of the net.

Finally in the last quarter whilst their players seemed to be worn out and weren’t really getting any chances, we were still getting shots away and sometimes even pushing our defence higher. Near the end of the game, I won a freekick, I laid it off to Sonny who boxed it, and Evan got a little touch which had just squeezed the ball slowly into the goal.

Every part of the game the pitch was just getting worse and worse with the mud, and everyone was slipping everywhere. After the game all the boys enjoyed sausage and chips.
