U15 Boys v Inner London

Saturday, 30th November 2019

This was our first competitive away game of the season and our third league game.  We knew that another win would be important against a strong Inner London side.

We started the game very well, forcing our opponents to make mistakes as we pressed high and worked hard but they were a good side and took care of the ball.  The deadlock was broken after around 10 minutes when Ronald Sithole cut the ball back for Jack Vine who slotted it into the bottom left corner.  We continued to work hard and won our individual battles and had chance after chance but could not convert to increase our lead.  The half time whistle went with Kent winning 1-0 and being the much better team and without Inner London threatening our goal.

We started the second half like we had finished the first and Rasheed Tijani finished a good move off into the bottom corner making it 2-0 to Kent.  We continued to work hard, wanting more goals and another goal came when Harvey Welford was put through and slotted it under the keeper to make it 3-0 to Kent.  It was another great performance from us today and we wanted the clean sheet as well.  With about 10 minutes to go Ronald Sithole once again beat his man and pulled the ball back and Joseph Terry smashed it into the roof of the net making it 4-0 and game over.  However we wanted the clean sheet and with a minute to go Inner London whipped a ball in and Alex Nika made a great save from the header and kept the score 4-0 as the final whistle went.

It was once again another brilliant performance from Kent and this meant we have won three league games out of three and top our group going into Christmas.

As always thanks to our managers, parents and supporters.  We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
