U14 KENT SCHOOLS VS INNER LONDON SCHOOLS
17th NOVEMBER 2018
It was our first home game of the season and we were up against tough opposition, Inner London, and we knew it would be a very hard game. However off the back of four wins in a row the squad was feeling confident and we knew that we could get a result.
The game started well for Kent as we had most of the ball and applied pressure. After about 15 minutes Jack Beerling won the ball back in midfield and passed to Alfie Moynes who put in a lovely cross for Rashid Tijani who hammered it into the back of the net. We kept applying pressure and were on top again as Inner London didn’t have many opportunities when just before half time Rashid Tijani put a ball into the box where Daniel Kanu converted making it 2-0 to Kent at half time.
Inner London started the second half strongly and we had to defend as they were piling on the pressure and this worked for them because two minutes into the second half, the Inner London striker was put through and scored to make it 2-1. We reacted very well and began playing football again and not long later Alfie Moynes put another through ball to Daniel Kanu who finished with a great volley to make it 3-1. Inner London started to put men forward in search of a goal and they nearly found the back of the net with a header but a sublime save from Henry Sworder kept the score at 3-1. We had a couple more chances on the counter attack but we couldn’t convert. The match finished 3-1 to Kent which was a great result for us and we stay unbeaten.
