In line with what we believe is the intention of the government's regulations, all KSFA inter-school, inter-district and inter-county football will be paused from Thursday 5th November to Wednesday 2nd December.
Although the government has indicated that sport in "school settings" can continue, there has been a lack of clarity as to what exactly this means. The indications are that it means sport can continue at and in schools, eg intra-school activities and curriculum-based learning. There has been no clear confirmation that it extends to inter-school sport, or to rep football.
Disappointing though this is, we will look to resume all activity as soon as possible, hopefully on Saturday 5th December with a full programme of district fixtures across all age groups. The fixture modelling that was done in the summer allowed for disruptions to the schedule, and we will publish revised dates when the picture becomes clearer.
The KSFA U19 League programme will commence on Wednesday 9th December. The cup draws will be published in due course, with Round 1 limit dates likely to be the end of January. Again, our fixture modelling allowed for this.
A big thank you to everyone for all their efforts so far. The KSFA U11 inter-district programme has got off to a great start, and the secondary age groups were due to start this Saturday - already many districts have been playing friendlies. Our County Squads have all been selected (the U11 Final trial was held on Monday and the squad is about to be announced) and have held training sessions and experienced some game time. This has all been achieved through the wonderful efforts of so many volunteers - THANK YOU.
