Kent teams made a good start in the South-East competitions when they travelled to Middlesex and returned with two victories and a draw. The Under 14’s, playing their first competitive match together, won 4-1 in a promising display that produced goals from Harry Taylor (2), Harry Carrigan and Sam Skeffington. Meanwhile the Under 16’s opened their account with a 4-2 win with goals from Marvin Armstrong, Luai Suliman and Lucas Murrain. A hard-fought draw for the Under 15’s saw Kent’s goal scored by Billy Lewins.
At Hayesbrook School in Tonbridge, the Kent Under 14 girls squad, bearing to reach a third successive national final, won 9-0 against a spirited Oxfordshire side. The goalscorers were Aileen Williams (2), Alice Bussey (2), Kaylie Wilson, Annie Rossiter, Grace Smith, Freya Bailes and Holly Martin.
