A pulsating second half performance from Kent Under 14’s saw them reach their second cup final of the season, when they travelled to Essex for the SEESFA semi-final and emerged as 5-3 winners. The first half was goalless, but after the break a Morant Reid hat-trick stole the show. Kent raced into a 3-0 lead, only for Essex to miss a penalty and then pull a goal back. The game ebbed and flowed in the final few minutes, but Kent always had a two-goal cushion, and will now face Surrey in the final. Other scorers for Kent were George Baker-Moran and Max Ndah.
Not to be outdone, the Kent Under 14 girls won their SEESFA semi-final against Hertfordshire 7-2, and now await the winners of the Essex v Inner London game in the final. Goal machine Tallulah Holy scored four more goals and further strikes from Rachel Stevens, Amy Haynes and Christobel Okongwu completed the scoring.
Both Under 14 age group Kent teams are now eagerly anticipating their respective ESFA National Finals, both of which will be played at St Andrews Stadium, home of Birmingham City FC. The boys will face Berkshire Schools on Thursday 4th May, kick-off 11.30 am, and the girls will play Lancashire Schools on Thursday 11th May, kick-off 3.30 pm.
