Congratulations to Michael Scott (Maplesden Noakes School, Maidstone) and Adam Molloy (Leigh City Academy, Dartford) who have both been selected for this season’s England Schools Under 18 Squad. They will feature in the opening international of the season against Australia at Oswestry Town FC on Sunday 31st January, and then take part in the training camp at Malaga during the February half-term.
The rest of the international programme includes Centenary Shield games against Scotland, Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland and Wales. Michael was a member of last season’s successful England squad that won the Centenary Shield.
He and Adam join a long line of Kent Schools players who have featured in England Squads in recent years, including Manchester United’s £7 million signing Chris Smalling, whose performances for the schools’ international team in the 2007-8 season resulted in him being offered a professional contract at Fulham two years ago.
