Despite heavy overnight rain, four inter-county games were able to go ahead on Saturday. On the 3G at Maplesden Noakes, Kent Schools Under 16 Girls beat Wiltshire Schools 3-1 after extra time in an ESFA National Cup game. Two goal from Courteney Gibson (Dartford GS) and one from Sophie Gifford (Walmer School) saw Kent through to Round 3, and a home tie against Surrey Schools.
At Archbishops School, the boys' Under 14, Under 15 and Under 16 county teams played Inner London Schools on three excellent pitches in the South-East England competitions. The Under 16's maintained their good form with a 4-1 win, courtesy of goals from Valley Park School's Joel Attwell (2), Frank Griffin (Wrotham School) and Luke Hyde (Kelsey Park), which took Kent to the top of the group table. The Under 16's will be looking to build on this fine victory next Saturday when they travel to Hampshire in the ESFA National Cup. Meanwhile, the Under 15's drew against Inner London, having been 2-0 up, whilst the Under 14's suffered a narrow 2-3 defeat, their goalscorers being Regan Payne (Leigh Academy) and Kieran Owusu (Kemnal Technology).
