Monday, 11th January 2010

Five Kent players have been chosen for the ESFA’s Summer Coaching Course – the first stage of the selection process for next season’s England Schools Under 18 Squad.

They are:

  • Ben Geenhalgh (Darrick Wood School, Orpington)
  • Jake Marsh (Walmer School)
  • Tom Phipp (Meopham School)
  • Michael Scott (Maplesden Noakes School)
  • Michael Walsh (Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys, Canterbury)

The course takes place at Keele University from 21st to 25th August

John Coles, long-serving manager of the Kent Schools Under 18 team, said “ Kent has an excellent record of providing players for the England Squad in recent years, and we congratulate all five boys on their selection for this important course.”

He added: “This is further evidence of the strength of schools football in Kent at all levels, but particularly so at the Under 18 age group.”
