The Kent Schools’ FA is delighted to announce that five of our county players have been selected for this season’s England international squads. Following final trials at Lilleshall, Rene Armstrong (Dover Grammar School for Boys), Eliott Cutts (Simon Langton Grammar School for Boys, Canterbury) and Aaron Simpson (Maplesden Noakes School, Maidstone) have been chosen for the England Under 18’s, whilst Maddie Brant (Invicta Girls Grammar School, Maidstone) and Miri Taylor (Rainham School for Girls) have merited selection for the England Under 15’s.
Their selection is further evidence of the strength, depth and quality of the extensive programme of schools’ football in Kent. At school, district and county levels, the KSFA offers the most comprehensive programme of schools’ football in the country, laying the foundations for the best players to progress to the international stage.
The three players chosen for the England Under 18’s have all represented Kent Schools in our younger age group county teams, benefiting from the high standard of inter-county football that we offer, including tours abroad. Aaron and Elliott were members of Kent’s highly successful squad that won the ESFA National Competition at the Ricoh Arena last March, whilst Maddie and Miri were in the Kent Under 14 Girls’ Squad that played in last season’s national final at the Madjeski Stadium.
The KSFA congratulates all five players on their selection, and wishes them well in the forthcoming international matches.
